It is with great anticipation that Historic Campbell Chapel will receive a Preservation Grant from the town of Bluffton!  Everyone is invited to the Town of Bluffton's Preservation Grant Presentation to be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 2:00 P.M.  The event will occur on the front porch of the chapel.

The Historic Chapel is a significant part of the city’s history and restoring it to its original 1874 condition will allow it to be used as an educational and cultural hub for the community.  The chapel has been a place of respectful dialogue and understanding, providing an opportunity to learn from one another and build bridges between different cultures, beliefs, and backgrounds.  Restoration will allow the Historic Chapel to be able to offer its own unique history and culture, and also add to the festivities already planned in the community.

Notes:  On June 7, 2023, The Reconstruction ERA National Historic Network announced Historic Campbell Chapell AME as a new addition to their network. The Reconstruction Era National Historic Network is a national collection of 67 public and private sites and programs that provide education, historical interpretation, and research related to the American Reconstruction era from 1861 to 1900.  The network is managed by Reconstruction Era National Historical Park and includes sites and programs that are affiliated with the Reconstruction Era, but not necessarily managed by the National Park Service. The network works to provide opportunities for visitors to connect to the stories of Reconstruction.
