Warm greetings to All! Today, I learned that there are still some very courageous people in this world. It’s not what you may first think….I mean…. I am talking about a 10-year-old giggling, smiling embodiment of joy! I was “introduced” to 10-year-old Lyric Saxton today by her admiring father, Torrence Saxton, Sr. He wants everyone to know about this little girl that stands out with her great character and charisma. Maybe I should start from the beginning……
You see, for years Lyric has suffered a physical breathing ailment that has threatened to take her life several times. Though the ailment is a scary one, her loving and adoring father has made a point of supporting his child as she goes through life living with an ailment that none of us would want to endure. Lyric goes to school, has many friends, enjoys playing with the best of them, and also loves to travel with family. If you asked her peers, they would describe Lyric as fun loving, generous, and outgoing. She is always ready with a smile. If you asked Lyric, she would say “I just enjoy being Lyric!”
Now that you know a little about, Lyric……you understand why it was important for me to tell you about her book. Yes, I said HER book. Lyric’s father thought about the life of his amazing daughter. In light of what she has endured, Lyric retains her pizazz and looks forward to achieving her goals in life. Torrence questioned, “How do you capture…. Not the struggle… but the glowing and glittering life that bubbles out of her very being? The life that gives other people joy and brings smiles to their faces”.
The book “Just Lyric” will take you into the life and world of Lyric through the eyes of those around her.
When you are finished reading this heart-warming 45-page children’s book, you too will be smiling and saying “that’s just Lyric”.
